Rapid City Journal Details How South Dakota Screen Printer Contributes to the Community |
Printa Systems' Promotional Product News likes to keep our customers up to date on what's happening in the screen-printing industry around the country. An article by Hannah Baker in the Rapid City Journal explains how one family operated screen-printing shop in Sturgis, South Dakota got its on the national map.
Tom's T's owner Tom Monahan has been in the business for over 35 years, proving that screen-printed T-shirts are a viable outlet for creative talents. Tom designed the original Sturgis motorcycle rally logo in 1986, as a way to give back to his community. Two dollars out of every sale still goes to the Sturgis Chamber of Commerce to help promote the rally and the town.
Every year, that same logo graces the front of the thousands of Tom's T's shirts created and sold at the annual Sturgis event. This year, Tom honored the 10th anniversary of September 11th in one of his annually updated T-shirt back designs. Tom hires local employees for his 10,000 square foot screen-printing shop and is proud of the fact that his promotional products are made in Sturgis by Sturgis residents.
Printa's Promotional Product News salutes Tom and his family for supporting their community, and for their success in the screen-printing business.
